Jack Kirby was an American comic book artist, writer, and editor. Along with Joe Simon, he created the superhero Captain America (Steve Rogers). Along with Stan Lee, he created the Marvel Comics characters the X-Men, Hulk, and the Fantastic Four. Along with Lee, Stan’s brother Larry Lieber, and Don Heck, he created the superhero Iron Man (Tony Stark).
Jack was the son of Rose (Bernstein) and Benjamin Kurtzberg. His parents were Austrian Jewish immigrants. He was married to Rosalind “Roz” Goldstein, with whom he had four children.
