Captain Jack Sparrows Pirate Tutorial!

Ahoy, me hearties! Perhaps your littles think that they’re suited to be pirates because they’ve taken part in A Pirate’s Adventures: Treasure of the Seven Seas. Perhaps they’ve even joined The Pirates League, but that ain’t enough to be a true swashbuckler. Blow me down, no! If they want to be a real buccaneer there’s only one solution. They must be trained by the greatest pirate to ever sail the high seas. That’s right! They’ll need to learn under the tutelage of Captain Jack himself in Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial.

1. What Is It?

Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial is an interactive show in the Magic Kingdom. The stage is located in Adventureland across from the Pirates of the Caribbean Attraction. The show lasts 25 minutes, and is subject to cancellation if there be a change in the weather.

2. Who Can Participate?

The show is open to all guests, but only four young swashbucklers will be chosen to train with Captain Jack. If you don’t get chosen, don’t start any mutinous belly achin’. There are multiple shows a day and Captain Jack is always on the lookout for little scallywags with a mind for plunder.

3. Sword Fighting 101

The four rogues chosen to train under Captain Jack will take part in Sword Fighting 101. They’ll learn how to wield their cutlass, but more importantly they’ll learn the art of distraction. Once they’ve learned this vital pirate skill, they’ll learn the most important trick in the Captain’s repertoire: how to run away!

4. Join The Crew

After Jack has walked his little bilge rats through their training, he invites the rest of the young scallywags in the audience to join him onstage. That’s when they’ll be sworn in as official members of Captain Jack’s crew, set to sail on the Black Pearl for Tortuga and points beyond! They’ll even be given a scroll proclaiming them official buccaneers.

5. Photopass

There are many great photo opportunities for the show, but know that it can be a bit crowded. Luckily, Disney has Photopass photographers at the show, snapping pictures of your wee corsairs in action.

With so much to do in the Magic Kingdom, it can be tempting to rush past little shows like Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial, but take the time to stop and you’ll be rewarded with a treasure trove of memories!
